The Land Administration team conducted site surveys of the real estate and commercial registries in La Paz and Santa Cruz, Bolivia. These site surveys included interviews of administrative, managerial, technical and clerical personnel; direct observation of daily office procedures; and an inventory of equipment resources. In addition to the registries the team conducted similar surveys at the cadastral offices the Office of Agrarian Reform, the municipal taxing office, and the national tax administration office. As a result of these surveys the landfolio team prepared a report entitled “Technical and Administrative Aspects of the Modernization of the Commercial and Real Estate Registries in Bolivia” that detailed the current status of the registries and provided recommendations for implementing automated management and maintenance techniques as well as interagency data sharing.
