Spatial Dimension* is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with the World Bank to upgrade and provide long term support to the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development’s Computerized Mining Cadastre System.

“The upgrade was necessitated because the new Mining Regulations were at last passed, and the earlier Regulations that the initial system was based on have been repealed,” said Bill Feast, Managing Director of Spatial Dimension. “However because Zambia uses the FlexiCadastre Toolset for their Computerized Mining Cadastre System, the upgrade to the new Regulations consisted merely of configuration changes to the workflows and business rules within the system rather than any software programming. This clearly demonstrates the flexibility and scalability of the FlexiCadastre solution to keep up with regulatory changes in the country.”

Spatial Dimension also used the opportunity to upgrade the underlying GIS technology used in Zambia’s Mining Cadastre from ESRI’s ArcIMS 9.1 to ESRI’s ArcGIS Server 9.3.

*Trimble acquired Spatial Dimension on September 2, 2015. FlexiCadastre is now part of the Landfolio software suite.
