Spatial Dimension* is pleased to announce that FlexiCadastre has been chosen as the new mining cadastre system for Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
Lao PDR recently went out on international tender for a new mining cadastre system through the Hydropower and Mining Sector Technical Assistance Project (HMTA). The aim of the HMTA Project is to increase human resource capacity and improve the performance of Government institutions in the hydropower and mining sectors in Lao PDR. The project is funded by the International Development Association of the World Bank Group.
“The mining sector in Lao PDR has been growing very rapidly, with the annual mineral production increasing from $10 million to $1.3 billion over the past decade. We are proud that we can assist the Government of Lao PDR with the orderly management of their growing mining sector.”
“We look forward to working with both the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to implement a world class mining cadastre system that encourages responsible investment in and development of the mining sector in Lao for the long term benefit of country,” said Mr Bill Feast, Chief Executive Officer of Spatial Dimension.
The project is anticipated to start in December 2013 and have a duration of 15 months.
*Trimble acquired Spatial Dimension on September 2, 2015. FlexiCadastre is now part of the Landfolio software suite.
