Zambia to move Mineral Rights System Online

Spatial Dimension is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract by the Zambian Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water to upgrade their existing Mining Cadastre System to a public facing online transactional system.

“The Mining Cadastre Office in Lusaka has been using FlexiCadastre for a number of years to manage all the back-office functions for the efficient administration of mineral rights. With the proposed amendments to the Mining Regulations, the Ministry wants to extend the Mining Cadastre System to allow for online applications and other services to all stakeholders via the internet as well as through specially equipped terminals in the Cadastre Office,” said Mr. Charles Young, Government Sector Consultant at Spatial Dimension.

“It has always been a pleasure working with Mr. Gideon Ndalama, first in his role as Head of the Cadastre Office and now as the Director of Mines in the Mines Development Department. I am very confident that Spatial Dimension will be able to give practical effect to his vision for an efficient and transparent mineral rights management regime in Zambia,” concluded Mr. Young.

FlexiCadastre is now part of the Landfolio software suite.
